From what I can tell: Online system pulled (pun intended) pool points up to the amount I have in my account. Can only spend up to the amount in your account, but spends the points in the pool in order of first in first out.

EXPECTATION: I was expecting all pooled points to be available and allow me to purchase flights with the pool total of 80K. But wouldn't let me do that.

that's a really nice trick, thanks for sharing... So the only problem is everyone will always have around 10K points un-redeemable because personal account balance below 10K.
