It has been a couple of years for me, but my experience has been "*NO*".

HA doesn't care about or acknowledge any perks related to DL at all. In the past, I have resorted to paying the $50 or so to upgrade to HA first for the island hop because it has always worked out less expensive than paying to check two bags.
