So we did implement a $25 USD fee for one night reservations but we do still exercise discretion on clients we’ve worked with for periods prior to waive it.

And to respond that it takes hundreds of seconds of work to make a Prive booking (I understand the sarcasm) but if we are making $12–20 dollars in commission on a one night stay, by the time the commission processing company Hyatt uses takes their cut, we invoice the reservation, chase down the upgrade because the hotel doesn’t respond in a timely manner and then by chance the client cancels the stay, it is a lot of work for very little compensation.

We are working to develop relationships that are long lasting with our clients and not just be transactional. We go above and beyond with Prive and other programs for clients who repeat their business with them to get them extras on top of the normal benefits.

But we were facing an excessive number of cancellations which is why we did implement our new policy for one night bookings. It is still quite generous compared to most though as we waive the fee all together for a one night stay if the reservation totals more than $500, and again, use discretion.
