Two questions:
- Did your duffel bag (perhaps mistakenly) get the yellow "personal item, underseat" label?
- Might the FA have thought you actually had three items, one already in the overhead bins?
1. For the first time in a long time on this route, I was not given a yellow tag at either check-in or the gate.
2. I was the first one on the plane due to pre-boarding but it is definitely possible she thought the bag in the overhead space (I assume belonging to the airline or crew, I didn’t investigate it closely) in the row ahead of me was mine. This is the only reasonable theory I’ve considered so far.
