Flew into AMS today on PH-BKA in PE, this time not at the bulkhead. Couple of observations:
- Both me and a colleague I was traveling with complained about the seat not being too comfortable on the lower back & upper legs. Personally I would compare the seat to shorthaul First in the US in terms of comfort. The seating comfort is personal though, curious to hear how others feel about this.
- All rows have the tray table in the armrest, this does not only apply to bulkhead.
- The wonky tray tables seems to be a design flaw. The table comes up vertically from the armrest, and then you are supposed to fold it horizontal. There is more than one pivot point in that mechanism. If you don't first extend the table fully vertically, it doesn't pivot correctly and you end up with the sliding tray table. The problem is that at some window seats you *cannot* extend the tray table fully vertically as it hits the cabin interior wall, preventing it to fully extend vertically. The only way to get it to fold open properly is to push the pivot mechanism manually (hoping to not get your fingers stuck in there) from the underside. We figured this out today as two other pax were not able to get their traytable to properly open horizontally. So they may not actually be broken but just installed badly (Too close to the interior wall).
- While the appetizer was good (Crab, some undressed salad greens, and a single prawn), today's main was far less great compared to the flight ex-AMS. I had the arancini which, if I had tasted them blind, I'd probably have guessed these to be reheated tater tots. This was the only choice available as they had already ran out of the - much more popular - chicken & beans option while serving the first two rows of PE (I was on the 3rd row). Bread rolls are served cold even though the menu says they should be hot.
- There is some alcohol available, I believe a wider choice compared to Economy. Baileys, Gin, Vodka and Whiskey (JW Red). They were happy to make me a basic bloody mary, though didn't offer any salt/pepper with the drink. Which is fine (Can use the seasoning that came with the meal) but would have been a nice touch.
- All pax were addressed by name at first interaction with crew.

I have a trip coming up in December and we currently have seats 11 A/C selected. Having some second thoughts with the number of complaints about the tray tables in that row already.
The bulkhead legroom is pretty good, however it is still a bulkhead. Where with the other rows you have virtually 'unlimited' legroom under the seat in front, that is not the case with the bulkhead. You can touch the bulkhead with your feet if you wanted to. Personally for me that was absolutely fine (at 1.83m) however not everyone appreciates a bulkhead seat as the dynamics are slightly different from the other seats.
