Here’s my longwinded review of what is an incredible resort. The WA Los Cabos Pedregal is officially in my top 10 all time for hotels with a major chain, and this 3 night getaway from our kids was one of the most memorable for my wife and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Based on another recommendation in this thread, we used Cabo Lindo for transport to/from hotel. WAY better than various services we’ve used in the past, and Cabo Lindo will be our go to service from now on. Clean SUV’s, excellent pricing, fluent English speaking driver (even though my wife is Mexican and I speak Spanish). Great pickup, dropoff, and email communication from them all around, very professional.

As has been said many times here, the entry into the hotel is a truly unique experience, coming out of the tunnel and seeing the view immediately, just beautiful. Check-in was perfect, as our concierge, who had been communicating with us for the past 2 weeks to set things up met us at drop-off and we toured the lobby and surrounding areas.

At the front desk, we got upgraded from the basic room (using 3 FNC’s), to the Dos Mares Jr Suite (we are Hilton Diamond), which was massive. Honestly anything bigger would have been a little silly for 2 people. What a wonderful and comfortable room, and the highlight of course is the plunge pool and its views.

Daily chips, guac and beer were a nice treat we enjoyed, as well as the welcome tequila and some extra snacks and treats they gave us for our anniversary celebration.

First night we went to El Farrallon for a sunset dinner. What an incredible build right into the side of the hill. I’m in real estate / construction, and a part owner of some hotels, so this really had a special impact on me seeing what they did here. The food did not blow us away (views did!), especially considering the pricing, but it was still solid. Would I go back? Probably for drinks and not a full meal, but as a one-time dinner experience, absolutely worth it and I’d recommend the same to anyone.

Second day&night, we spent most of it by the adult pool + spa . The spa here is top notch. Expensive, but top quality service and both wife and I enjoyed multiple services, including scrubs, wraps, etc. A bit of up-selling by the staff, but so what, we loved it all. We also did the cocktail class at 4pm… in which we made a LOT of drinks. To the point that we had to cancel our dinner reservations at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, cause well, we just were too “tipsy” (ha, I’m being generous) to make it to dinner. So we enjoyed a light dinner at Don Manuels which was surprisingly good and loved the live music. I actually think the food at Don Manuels is better than El Farrallon, but it obviously lacks the experience and wow factor.

Following day… back to the spa cause the first round was so good. And then we did a Mexican wine tasting. My wife’s family is originally from Zacatecas, but we were disappointed that they had wines from every region in Mexico except Zacatecas (even though we had even requested that in advance). That said, the experience was still great. And, once again, quite “tipsy”, and ended up cancelling dinner reservations at Manta (located at the Thompson hotel). But whatever, who needs food when you have drinks!

So 3 nights… and we ended up never actually leaving the hotel. Was not our original plans, but in the end, we ended up enjoying every bit the resort has to offer, including the Crudo bar (sea bass tacos!!), Neutral Coffee (some amazing pour over coffee and I stayed there each day for 30+ mins chatting it up and learning about coffee in ways I never knew before), Beach Club (delicious tuna ceviche), and the breakfasts at Don Manuels were good too, we sort of alternated between the included Diamond menu stuff and paying the $10 upcharge for hot food like eggs and what not.

As has been said, the hotel design and layout are great, the views are stunning, rooms are marvelous (yea, I’m running out of positive adjectives), but what sets this hotel apart from so many others is the staff & service. Every single interaction, from pre-arrival concierge, to check-in, to every meal and request, spa, pools and so on, was the utmost impressive and its clear why this hotel has a 5 diamond rating for Forbes. A good family friend of ours used to work for Forbes, doing these reviews (and now does independent consulting for luxury resorts), and its so clear the training the staff goes through and the standards they need to meet and maintain sets them apart.

The last night, while we were at dinner the staff came and had rose petals laid out in a giant heart on our bed, and all over the room with candles, it was truly stunning and beautiful and a total surprise (my wife thought I had requested it, and little does she know, it wasn’t my idea, but I fully took credit and advantage!)

Two super minor complaints (not even complaints, just suggestions I shared with the front desk)- at night, the hotel has some areas that are just a bit too dark while walking, and also signage isn’t not the best. Of course after a few days, we got the layout down, but that first night walking to and back to El Farrallon from our room, we got lost (also entirely possible due to being tipsy and not the resorts fault).

My wife is already asking when we are going back… thankfully we only have one anniversary per year!
