Sharing some photos from my stay below. The staff there was amazing, very friendly, and always happy to help. I was upgraded several days in advance to a Regency Suite with a pool view. A lot of space but the finishes are not qualitative. The bathtub was moving around the bathroom, etc... But the hotel is still new so that was not an issue yet. I received a basket of fruits and nuts as a welcome amenity.
The Regency Club offer was amazing. They brought entire pizzas into the club every hour at night, and also had an offer for lunch. Food was repetitive but with many options. Wine and beer are free from 6 PM to 8 PM but are on request only. The Club was empty most of the time.
I tried to dine outside one night but was aware that there is a real mosquito issue. I got 10 bites in less than 5 minutes so went back inside. Bring repellent. The food at restaurants onsite was correct but nothing memorable.
I did not book a transfer and I had plan to Uber to the hotel but the wifi at the airport was not working that day. I ended up negotiating a rate with a local taxi driver (15 usd). The rate was ok but the driver got lost several times and did not know where the hotel was. The 45 kilometers ride took 2.5 hours... I only used Uber for the rest of the trip. I bought a 1GB Esim for 10 USD on the Redteago app and it worked nicely.
The hotel has a Tour office in the Lobby, and the rate for the Pyramids was 70 USD for transfer both ways. An Uber ended up being only a few dollars. Just be aware that guides will stop your car well before the entrance and will try to bring you to
their tickets office and sell you anything from camel rides to very expensive guided tours... Just ignore and go up the road. Once you reach the official police check, the official ticket office is just behind the gates.
Very satisfied with my stay overall. I sent 16k Hyatt points for two nights, whereas the cash rate for the stay was 350 USD including tax. Excellent value.
