I think its in my best interest to transfer those 400 now (they will be gone in March anyways)
I'll have appx 600 to apply to 2023 qualification.
No idea if i will meet the spend necessary to qualify in 2023 even for Silver, but can hang on to those to see how the year progresses
at some point, i feel i'll have to give up on Elite status altogether
sadly i only have around 780,000 lifetime flight miles.
Other than keeping the legacy CO card (that now no longer earns FLEX PQP), are they any other ways to qualify for status?
I agree you should use the 400 now and transfer the remaining 600 next year before they expire.
I am not aware of any special tricks outside of the FPQPs to get status other than earning PQPs and PQFs via travel (including TOD upgrades and subscriptions) and earning PQPs via spend on a UA branded CC.
Remember this is the most valuable card for generating PQPs through CC spend: 500 per $12k spend up to 10,000 PQPs (good to 1K, not that you are looking for that). You still need the 4 PQFs however.
You certainly should be able to make at least Silver if not Gold in '24 with the remaining 2700 plus the 600 start.
