What I mean is the company I work for will pay for PE for international flights but as we all know that isn't exactly a bed for sleeping. So if I take an overnight flight and have to go straight to work, it's better than Y but I'm still groggy because I didn't have a proper sleep on the plane (like I would in J).
In the olden days, I many times got my company to pay for one or 2 extra hotel nights and flew early to my overseas meetings. When fares were cheaper with Saturday night stays, I would spend the weekend in London and go to work ready to roll Monday, and often saved enough money on the airfare to pay for the hotel.
