What I usually do when booking several nights in one hotel and I am not sure if my plans change: i book every night separate. This way I can add or remove nights without suc h problems.
I usually email the hotel before I arrive and tell them that I have several reservations. Nevery any problem staying in the same room (even if I occasinally book different room types).
