OP, just buy the cheapest one way ticket on DL from TPA, then use your AMEX to get into Skyclub. Cancel ticket before getting on VS flight (do they still have time limits at SC? If so, factor that into your DL purchase departure time). Doing this once probably won't get you in trouble with DL
If you're a departing passenger, you can't enter until three hours before your scheduled departure time, but if you're connecting (on a single ticket/PNR, although agents have been reported to not enforce this), you have unlimited time (presumably on the same day or for an overnight connection under 24 hours for international).
