Airline bookings in general request the passenger informaiton and you are welcome to enter any name and any birthdate as desired. But cancellations and changes can be an issue for the passenger so the process isn't without issue. Don't book the ticket without 100% confirmation of the full name and the birth date on the ID to be used both for check in and for security. If the name is wrong or the birth date is wrong the passenger will not be flying. Hotels aren't fond of award bookings for other people, though.
