I hope that some of you can give me some help here. I'll be flying to Shanghai on AC, as I've done a few times before. This time, I'll be flying from Shanghai to Xiamen. I've never taken domestic Chinese airlines before, and I've heard some safety and service horror stories from colleagues, but those are from some time ago and things may have changed. Can someone help me choose the best airline to fly with? There seem to be a few choices, including China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines and China Southern. I could also fly Dragonair (which I've flown before between HKG and PVG) by connecting in Hong Kong, but that turns a 1-1/2 hour trip into 5-1/2 hours. Obviously if that is the safer way to go, I'd do it.
