I supposed I don't really care because even if I am credited with year 10 in February 2024, I will remain consecutively Platinum, which is all I care about.
It may be somewhat difficult for me to get the 50 nights going forward due to decreased work travel...

No. You will be credited for year 9 around Feb 2023 for the year you earned in 2022. Unless Marriott does something off again as it did when everyone got the year added early around November - which is what you’re referring to.
Your 10th year will be credited around Feb 2024.
It’s up to you if you want to do 0-49 nights in 2023 (and clearly not re-qualify for Platinum during 2023) on the word of an internet forum to get that 10th Lifetime Platinum year credited around Feb 2024. Or if you de-risk your Lifetime status by doing the 50 nights during 2023 to guarantee the 10th year is credited around Feb 2024. It really is up to you if you only want to act on the posts that support your own point of view or not.
Nobody has come up with any practical evidence that the T&C you’re relying on is indeed what happens in the 10th year if you do not do the 50 nights and there are ambiguous, conflicting, T&Cs to this point. Up to you at this point.
