I've posted about the premium of flying out of a hub in the past . In fact now that EFD is a thing of the past, I'm once again thinking about AA. Extra miles (to connect in DFW), more room in coach, more destinations I want to fly to.

DFW also has a hub premium, but of course it wouldn't be as bad flying out of HOU or IAH.

And billiam is right about SW not necessarily being cheaper. They brand themselves as LCC, and the person who flies once or twice a year will simply use them without checking CO's prices. I too have found cheper prices on some routes that SW flies on CO.
