Does anyone have any experience with management / contact info at this hotel?

Over a year ago (early October 2021) we booked a stay here for next September (September 2023) knowing that it would be difficult to find hotels because of the Ryder Cup being in Rome at that time. Now this morning (over a year after we made our reservation), we got an email from the hotel telling us that they can't accommodate us ("due to an unpredictable human error" so they claim, I don't buy that story for a minute, I suspect that they've just realized their error in allowing people to book well in advance of the event before they figured out how much they could jack up pricing / charge to luxury tour companies for the same rooms (I do know the hotel is being used by some hospitality groups at that time)).

They are now trying to transfer our reservation to "one of the nicest hotel in the city" (sure...) the Hilton Rome Eur la Lama which isn't anywhere near the prime parts of the city (instead it is out at the convention center and on a "normal" night at least seems to be less than half of the cost of the Aleph).

I just don't understand how it could take them over a year to discover this "error". I've avoided responding to their email right away and thought I would see if anyone had come across a similar problem before I reach out. As of now my reservation still shows up normally on Hilton.com. If there is anyway I can force them to honor the reservation they took that is what I'd like and if not curious what kind of compensation I can request from them and/or Hilton.
