I have experience stingy Ritz Carlton who refuse to upgrade frequent stayer ambassador to Ritz Carlton who granted generous upgrades even on the first stay.

Those Ritz Carltons does have limited benefits for elites already. Like no Platinum or above access to their club lounge, only points available for welcome benefit, and limiting suite upgrade to titanium and ambassadors only.

I stayed 3x this year at Ritz Carlton Orlando, and was upgraded to a suite twice, and given late check out at 4pm. confirmed before arrival each time.

Just stayed at South Beach RC, and was confirmed 4pm check out weeks ahead, and given a suite at check in.

I guess I've done well with Ambassador. I don't think at any other stay this year that I haven't had 4pm check out.

I fall to Titanium next season....sigh.
