Hi all, currently debating three hotels for our first trip to BKK and looking for some expert advice:

• Siam (garden view suite)
• Waldorf Astoria (deluxe city view, HH Gold)
• Sukhothai (club balcony room)

Siam was added primarily due to the glowing reviews here but it is by far the most expensive (double the cost of Sukhothai). Wife is leaning towards WA as she's a sucker for a nice pool and shiny new things. Sukhothai seems to be a nice respite from city life but perhaps somewhat dated. We will be arriving after a long trip from NY for four nights before continuing on to Krabi and Singapore. Please let me know your thoughts and thanks in advance!
