Inoperative Club Suite 12-hour flight

If anyone with a similar experience to mine can suggest what appropriate compensation would be I would be very grateful.

I flew BA59 LHR-CPT in Club Suites, however, upon boarding the scanner turned red and I was advised to step aside and speak with an agent. The agent informed me that my Club Suite was non-functioning and would not recline at all, nor would it go down to a bed. I inquired about a downgraded to World Traveller Plus or World Traveller as those seats would at least recline a few inches and there was no availability as the entire flight was sold out. I then inquired about being rebooked and the agents checked both CPT & JNB and both were completely sold out on BA & QR for the next 3-days, so taking the broken Suite was the only option.

Upon boarding I was greeted by the Inflight Manager who acknowledged the broken Suite, apologized, but assured me after take off he and another crew member could manually put the seat into a bed. This was acceptable to me. However, after meal service they tried for 20-minutes between 3 different crew members and the seat would not even manually recline or go into a bed. So do the 12-hour flight I had a seat that honestly was worse Thant WT+ or WT since it wouldn’t recline any, so I was forced to sit upright the entire almost 12-hour flight.

Both the supervisor at the gate and the Inflight Manager emphasized they left very detailed notes on my PNR and to submit a complaint and refund request. Today, I received a response to my compliant where I’d requested £1K in compensation offering me an insulting $50.00 USD travel voucher. That’s insulting.

Can anyone help me understand:
1). What would be appropriate compensation
2). Best next step to reject this $50.00 voucher and escalate to request whatever the appropriate compensation should be.

thank you!
