I had two separate bookings GLA-DXB and DXB-KUL. Asked nicely at GLA if they could check my bag through to KL. The agent happily obliged, but it did seem a little complex as it took 5 minutes with lots keyboard tapping to get the bag tag to print. I was able to transit through DXB without any issue, so it’s worth asking.
