Thanks for the info on Nordic, looks like a good back up for the future.
Probably feels a bit like Sisyphus in rolling the boulder up only to have it fall back down just before the peak.

Good to know they are good about upgrades.

I’m very satisfied with Nordic Choice Club Platinum benefits — but it’s got a 60 night qualification threshold. I have no experience with the following, but if you’re eligible for Swedish credit cards, then you may want to look into the Nordic Choice Club credit card as it make status acquisition and retention a lot easier:

Nordic Choice seems to be pretty good toward Golds too. And between keeping the credit card and 6 nights, it seems like it should be easy to get and then keep Nordic Choice Gold status.

Amusingly, it’s one of my two most used Nordic Choice properties which has been the most inconsistent with upgrading me while the rest of the Nordic Choice hotels are extremely good to me about doing what they can with regard to upgrades. I think in large part that property staff at that place knows I don’t really care about them upgrading me when I show up; that and they can’t really do much more for me given my tendency to book them in the late evening for same-day/night check-in.
