In the past, I have always used my own E-Z Pass with Hertz cars without problems. In a recent rental, however, my transponder was correctly charged $ 5 for crossing the Ben Franklin Bridge and $ 14.37 the next day for travelling between Philadelphia and Jersey City. The same $ 19.37, plus convenience fee, has also been charged by PlatePass/Hertz. If it had been just one plaza I would have considered it an error, but two in a row seem to indicate that the method no longer works. Has something changed recently?
