Market is changing at least short term as more leisure passengers are buying business class. Business cabins go full day after day while business class fares are higher than in many years. And it must be said that they have given out too many upgrade vouchers..
I doubt that the cabins are full of leisure flyers even 6 or 8 months ahead, also I doubt that now leisure flyers paying the full price of a J ticket, when they did not 3 years ago, since prices more or less doubled, at least.
Planes are full to leisure destinations, but for the reason is more or less the overselling strategy of AY, you hardly get upgrades or awards if you flying to Asia and US Westcoast (mainly Thailand and LAX) while Awards and Upgrades to ORD or Dallas are pretty easy to catch.
