My elderly in laws are traveling ORD-DEL-CCU on one AI PNR (3 hour layover). Do they have to pick up and recheck bags in Delhi? Can't keep track of changes in a post COVID world. AI's website says that recheck is still needed. https://www.airindia.in/Transit-Information.htm
