WoW - for the most part, the W Mina Seyahi really stuns. With one of the most beautiful interior designs I've seen so far, most aspects focusing on comfort, and fantastic staff attitudes, this property is poised to become a stunner and a gem in the portfolio. I can see why Marriott is already marketing it in their emails (Father already mentioned this to me in an email he received recently from Bonvoy) - I was lucky enough to find a rate one week prior around $480, but I can see why rates are usually higher. Is it worth it - well, you can be the judge based on my photos - let's get into it!

Pros:
  • Upgraded without SNAs to a Marvelous Suite (2nd suite category) a day or two before check-in
  • Great arrival experience - super friendly staff, tasty refresher drink and cold towel (apologies for no picture), escorted to my suite by the front desk associate (Daniel - very friendly)
  • Proactively offered 4 PM late checkout (despite resort status - no option in mobile check-in on app)
  • "Pick your fortune" card game at check-in netted me a free coffee from the lobby coffee shop
  • Stunning design - both outside and inside - I loved the (very dark) hallways, the pink elevators, the light fixtures above the lobby lounge
  • My suite was absolutely beautiful - incredibly detailed design - really the pinnacle of the W design aesthetic
  • Views were amazing (and I was only on the 10th of 30 floors) - you could even see the Burj Khalifa well over the roof of the Westin
  • Welcome gift of fruit and macarons on a (smelled and looked like chocolate) viper sculpture
  • Bed was super comfortable - "just right" mattress, plush pillows, plush covers
  • TVs had a Chromecast system, but this one worked with YouTube (unlike Hyatt systems since at least January)!
  • Lots of international outlets
  • Living room furniture actually comfortable
  • Service attitudes really nice - I ended up in the elevator with one of the Guest Experience Managers who offered to show me the pool as we were both going to that floor - she asked me my room number (no computer or device in sight), and after I told her, she said "oh, Mr. [My First Name]" - I was shocked
  • Elite breakfast (welcome gift choice) at Ginger Moon was really delicious - made-to-order eggs and omelettes, super tasty carrot cream cheese muffins, green juices, smoked salmon, pancakes, veal bacon (tasted like pork bacon to me)
  • Ginger Moon service was top-notch - lots of addressing by name, very thorough and want to help
Cons:
  • Shower could have had stronger pressure (not terrible, but definitely on the eco-friendly side for the rainfall head)
  • Noise from Barasti definitely noticeable, but I still fell asleep at 10 PM with it going on (last I remember was some sort of Katy Perry remix)
Pro or Con, depending on how you roll:
  • The suite shower window has no blind (presumably for moisture and mildew concerns) and is not tinted differently than the other windows, meaning you can absolutely see inside at night if you're on the beach (as are all of the people at Barasti) - W showers have gotten flak for a lack of privacy between the bathroom and other areas of the room, but this one has a lack of privacy between you and the public - again, the pinnacle of W design! :-)
Overall, I would absolutely recommend the W Mina Seyahi - a fantastic property!
