Hey, I generally hate octopus (not squid, which I am merely indifferent to), but takoyaki is the best way I know of to make it palatable.

And yakisoba is classic festival food! When bought from a stall, it comes in a little plastic box, so just hold it in one hand and chopstick with the other. If you don't know how to use chopsticks... let's just say you'll learn very fast once in Japan
