We’re upgrading our MileagePlus account technology this weekend. Between 9 p.m. CDT on Saturday, October 15, and 7 a.m. CDT on Sunday, October 16, customers won’t be able to sign into their MileagePlus account or make transactions with miles or PlusPoints.

The changeover is designed to be seamless, but the outage will affect some functions for our MileagePlus customers, such as seat selection, inflight purchases, bag fees and more. We have workarounds in place for most impacted functions to ensure as smooth of a transition as possible.

Additionally, select amenities within United Jetstream that include fulfillment through MileagePlus will be unavailable during the changeover.

Customers traveling during and around the changeover period will be receiving emails from MileagePlus with tips to help them enjoy a smooth travel experience. Premier members should still receive benefits like complimentary Economy Plus upgrades, and earned miles or Premier qualifying activity will post to customer accounts after maintenance is finished.

We're upgrading our MileagePlus account technology this weekend. Between 9 p.m. CDT on Saturday, October 15, and 7 a.m. CDT on Sunday, October 16, you won't be able to sign in to your MileagePlus account or make transactions with miles or PlusPoints.

Here are tips to help you travel more seamlessly during the maintenance period:
• Arrive at the airport early. Pre-flight preparations like check-in and checking bags could take longer as a result of the outage.
• Have your boarding pass printed, emailed, or saved to your phone's digital wallet. You can also print it at an airport kiosk. Don't plan to use the boarding pass within your United app.
• Keep your reservation number XXXXXX and MileagePlus number handy.
• If you booked with miles or Money + Miles, or you're planning on using PlusPoints, make reservation changes or upgrade requests before 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 15.
• During check-in, add your credit card to buy food or drinks onboard. Previously saved forms of payment may not work, and miles won't be redeemable on your flight.
• Bring your United Club℠ membership card or take screenshots of your digital card.
• Keep the printed tracking tags for your checked bags.
• If you'd like to use Wi-Fi on board your flight and you're unable to sign in using your MileagePlus account, select "Continue as guest" for Wi-Fi access.

Premier members should still receive benefits like complimentary Economy PlusŪ upgrades and can call the PremierŪ priority desk for help. Earned miles or Premier qualifying activity will post to your account after maintenance is finished.
