I was last there in April. First off, just wanted to say I absolutely loved the place. Second to none in my HR experiences. To answer your questions in order:

1. I don't think the two-seaters (day beds?) are really worth it for what you pay, especially the ones by the pool, unless you really want to spend most of your time lounging in them. The pool area can get crowded so you're often surrounded by people, even in those. There can also be a lot of passers-by on the walk-way by the beach, too. But, if you're content just hanging out there, it may not be all that bad.

2. Globalists do get a discount. I think when we were there, we were offered a 10% discount.

One thing about the resort that is worth noting is that they use wrist-bands. The globalists received gray, rubber wrist bands while I think the rest received orange cloth wrist-bands. You use them to get into the club and your room. If you go down the slide at the pool area, you will also need your wrist band so they know you're staying at the hotel and not creeping in from the Marriott next door ;-)
