The runway situation has improved significantly at ORD since they untangled the runways and delays are way, way down. A very good step in the right direction. Sadly, ORD's transformation into a world-class airport is going to take at least another decade and DL will not benefit any further than it has as of the move to T5. The primary beneficiary of the new terminals will be non-SkyTeam carriers in the other major alliances when T2 is replaced. AA is not doing anything with their terminals so that will still be as disgusting as it is today. T5 is and will remain functionally obsolete as a domestic terminal. ORD will have more service and better connectivity than airports like DTW, but DTW is set up to be a more efficient, effective hub operation and the McNamara is one of the best in the US...still.
