I was taken care of multiple times by SK missing a connection on two different tickets. As long as all flights are on SK metal, they used to be quite flexible and accommodating. I think they even have an internal note/policy to help out in these cases... at least I was told that a few years back in HEL by a very helpful agent.

But it is goodwill of the airline and you might be SOL if you rely on it.
