I am BA Gold and have had no issues accessing the AS lounges using my BAEC status when flying Economy on AS. Most recently it was a trip from ANC to ADK using Avios. Glad you also visited the Qantas First lounge at LAX. That is probably my favourite lounge, perhaps with the exception of the Cathay lounges in HKG. Lounge access when flying on domestic US itineraries is one of the key benefits of being a BAEC member over AA / AS.

Yes, I must say, absolutely no problem and 0 resistance anywhere. Boarding pass scanned with their iPads and all good. I presume any previous issues reported on here were possibly either due to agents misinterpreting rules and refusing to scan the boarding pass or perhaps AS hadn’t “programmed” the iPads correctly to accept non-AS/AA OWS/OWE! Who knows. Glad to know it’s a thing of the past at least and it is as seamless as accessing any other
oneworld lounge! I also highly value being able to access AA Flagship First check-in too being BA Gold too additionally.
