You are very unlikely to get stay credit for both rooms. IT is supposed to catch that and usually does.
(Can create an IT hiccup. Keep the paper folios till you verify enough nights of stay credit and points have posted).
Thanks for the response. I would likely be leaving a suitcase and many clothes in the room. For context, staying in London and going to Paris for the weekend. I think I would have a good case for getting credited both stays. Not like it's two rooms in the same city.
