I know that PC has only just been launched and there won’t be necessarily be a lot of experience with this specific situation, but does any know if this would be considered an involuntary downgrade with respect to EC 261 regs? Or does the fact that this has happened in advance with notice mean that it’s not technically a downgrade? The email I received mentions applying for a refund for the fare difference, but no suggestion of compensation.
Unfortunately happend to me as well for a flight out of Amsterdam in a few weeks. As I was not automatically rebooked on another flight, I called the KLM desk early and luckily got the last economy seat on a flight the same day. No possibility for upgrading to business with miles as of now (was hoping to use the SP for security check). Did you get any information regarding compensation on downgrades?
