Hi CIHY - indeed you have, and I personally have never encountered any related problems (when using the bell).

However, the fact remains that some CC - even if a small minority - do not share your view, based on recent posts from a couple of FT-ers. IIRC, there was a reported comment that a CC member went so far as to ask “so, what’s the emergency ?” when responding to a call bell. I’m sure that’s reflective of a very unusual and rare attitude but nor do I have cause to doubt the word of the BA passenger involved.
