I did this today. Checked my backpack at the excess luggage stand in Terminal 5, very easy. Started off running this route and managed to get myself hella lost. Met a guy taking his pony for a walk through the neighborhood, as one does. Also ran into a very disheveled-looking Angela Merkel doppelganger. Somehow wound up all the way behind Heathrow (?????) but eventually made it to Terminal 4, where I mapped it out and realized it was another 4 miles to get to Terminal 5. I know I could have just taken the shuttle, but I didn't, on principle. Wound up doing about 10 miles all told. All in all, 10/10 experience, highly recommend.
Funny, I did it on Tuesday for the first time since the pandemic. I also checked my luggage at the Left Luggage facility in T5 (which charges £7 for up to three hours). I had no problem remembering the route, but while running it occurred to me that it might be difficult to follow. I also couldn’t remember how I came up with this route. But I still enjoyed it!
