BA text says one thing, gate staff say another

Currently at CDG awaiting the delayed BA319 back to LHR. I just got a text and an email from BA saying I can collect a complimentary voucher from the boarding gate. Gate lady said they have none and this is 'Wrong information from British Airways' and that I should just buy something anyway and send the receipt to BA.

Is she right?
