I ask because, if you use the switch tool, your original bank account is closed and I don't really want to do that. Happy to switch my salary to Barclays (and take out a new credit card) but don't want to close my other bank accounts.
I may be totally wrong and is just an idea that’s come to mind. To “tick” the box for the additional 25K avios can someone not open a new app only bank account (Starling or Monzo) and then do a switch to Premier using the switch service (even tho it will be transferring nothing)? The way I see it is you’re ticking the box of using the switch service and also opening a premier account.
you just then have to transfer the minimum each month for 4 months get the avios and close it down.
I am obviously no lawyer or finance person…
