I think the offline booking charge is a cause of great annoyance when it is imposed on the purchase of a paid ticket that cannot be booked online, but I don't think the charge would bother me a great deal when I redeemed miles and a voucher for two free tickets in F to CPT/SFO worth several thousand pounds.
But this is on top of the fuel service, taxes and dubious BA 'charges'. I paid £184 for a pair of F out / J back tickets to Dubai recently, and £180 for a pair of J returns to JFK. The latter was pre-£15 supplement and pre-fuel surcharge - JFK must now be about £240 in taxes and charges alone!
