I would caution against judging LH business class in what to expect in their F product. I flew LH business once and never again. On the other hand, I've flown LH from LAX to JNB via FRA over a dozen times. It a great experience. If you layover properly in FRA you can use the private First Terminal and have private drive to the plane. I actually would rank LH First above the others I've tried: EK, OZ and even slightly above SR. I'm actually flying BA First next month (obviously not taking my own advice) and while I'm sure I'll enjoy the experience, I realize LH, SR and AF (which I have not tried) would all be my preference to enjoy a top-notch First experience.
I flew LH FRA-JNB in F earlier this year and have to say I was disappointed. The only F I’d flown was BA so the bar wasn’t super high. I found the flight attendants rather standoffish (even compared to those on the DUB-FRA legs) and the food ex FRA was significantly worse than ex JNB which I was surprised at. Yes the FCT in FRA was lovely but the lounge options in JNB are worse than the BA F lounge (the awful SA one or the solid VS one)
