I usually check both including the HGI and the Hilton always seems to be more expensive than the Marriott options and HGI is usually pretty close. Not to lead this discussion astray but why do you prefer the Hilton? Comments I've read recently on the Hilton seem to indicate lounge has gone down the crapper (which it has at the Marriott options too compared to SPG) so just wondering.
I have not stayed at Hilton FRA since covid so most likely my comparison with Sheraton is partially stale. The lounge at Hilton, even if they downgraded food options since I last stayed, is a nicer place to spend some time, than even the renovated lounge at Sheraton which is not bad in itself. Most importantly, one thing that won't change any time soon: the building of Hilton is newer and more modern than the aging rooms at Sheraton. Hilton often feels more exclusive, quiet, and stylish, unlike Sheraton which tries to cater to big crowds as I could see from the long check-in queues and the restaurant situation with Marriott. During my stay at Sheraton I walked to the Squaire and that entire area was more of a peace haven than Sheraton/Marriott.
Yes Hilton is more expensive which is why I don't stay there 100% of the time. Sometimes the price delta is excessive so alternatives can be considered, including Sheraton at the low end.
