I'm stuck in this math right now. ORD based, almost entirely domestic. Only "non-US" travel lately was CUN which is basically domestic in terms of upgrade eligibility.
I have 5 rewards pending redemption including 2 from 2021 which need to go before end of year.
For the 6 flights I take a year with a girlfriend, they're mostly ORD-MIA so 15K+$75 each for award upgrades versus SWU. I think I value the award miles more than the SWU since I can use the award miles for actual travel and they never expire.
Being in the middle of the country makes transcons not as difficult in Y, too.
