How good, or bad, is the OP at getting to sleep in their own bed? My answer to this would be to not expect to get any decent sleep at all and just run with it. Sleep is overrated 😁
My routine is thus:
Eat a meal, have a small amount of alcohol, watch some entertainment until you feel you can’t keep your eyes open, then doze for as long as your body thinks you need. On landing, check in to the hotel, crash out for a couple of hours then get up around midday and power through until mid-evening at your destination, then go to bed.
This is sufficient for me but YMMV. If in Y a neck pillow may be a good idea, (I’m not a big fan as I find them too constricting and like I’m being strangled but that’s just me) as well as an eye mask.
But my core advice, albeit trite, would be not to worry about whether you will or will not be able to sleep since having a sleep ‘target’ and not hitting it will prove counter-productive.
