If you have time, a week before you flight try shifting your bodyclock to the new timezone, so that your 8pm departure is your new normal bedtime and when you feel sleepy.


As others have said, I'd avoid alcohol. Earplugs help, also I'd start wearing them sleeping at home so you get used to the feel of them.
