+1. My AirPods Max case is huge. I refuse to just use the silly case they provide -- them in that and then within an actual case for protection.

That said they are still 100% worth bringing on any trip despite the bulk. There's only a handful of times that I can remember the J/F headphones being good (basically if they were Bose) and even then they usually get collected before landing which is a PITA, especially for the US airlines who sometimes like to start "getting ready for landing" like an hour before landing on long international flights
