Guess it's really a small thing to carry around while on the ground. Making a mountain out of a headphone.
Domestically I use a backpacking utility sack with a carabiner as a "flight bag" - it's just big enough for headphones, cables, the 2 pronger, and the water bottle & snacks that somehow fall into it during the flight.

I clip it to my messenger bag before boarding and just hang it on the seatback soon as I sit down.
