I decided to cancel after the ex-IHG hotel stated that rewards nights would not be honored. I logged in to my IHG account, and tried to cancel online but received an error message I would have to call Customer Care. I called the call center and managed to state I need to cancel. (The phone line was very distorted) They also tried to cancel, but then let me know they would have to call the hotel directly and put me on hold for about 10 mins until the call dropped.

I left it for a day or so, and repeated the whole process and again, I was cut off

I tried to email the Wotton House, but the IHG email address
[email protected] does not work. Finally I actually call the Wotton House, speak to the front desk, cancel and receive a cancellation number. Unfortunately, my IHG account still reflects the stay. Next I try the online concierge and finally seem to be getting somewhere, …….the last message states that they need to verify with the hotel…….. 1/2 hour later the online concierge is still open, but no-one is home

So, I have a cancellation number from the ex-IHG hotel, but the booking is still in my IHG account - Do I just leave it or worry that IHG will charge when I “don’t show”? The call center and online concierge are pretty useless; any other ideas are most welcome
