"What to expect" - which I checked before booking - states otherwise, though: "During your stay, we will not provide housekeeping automatically every day. If you wish to receive daily housekeeping refresh service, please let our guest services team know. We will be happy to schedule service according to your preferences." So given this I feel a bit shortchanged here - I could also have stayed at a nearby Home2Suite from Hilton or even the Hyatt Place next door at similar rates.
So has anybody heard of that Marriott mandate as well? I called the elite line, and they had no indidcation that Marriott would prohibit daily housekeeping and just referred to the "What to expect"-page of that particular hotel...
To put this in contrast: We just checked out of a Hilton Grand Vacatin Club, and they did provide daily housekeeping after asking for that once (even though their normal frequency is every three days also) and also even offered to do housekeeping on the spot as we did not notice that before the evening before the second night when we came back to our room finding no housekeeping had been done. This is quite a different approach to this matter in my opinion...

It's probably a franchise owner mandate. That being said, I am fairly sure (IANAL) it is false advertising for them to be saying "We will provide more frequent housekeeping upon request" and then say that as a matter of policy they won't do so. I feel like, if informed of this upon check-in, you'd have been able to demand a no-charge cancellation (I achieved such a thing during...I think it was the summer of 2020...at the Delta LBV in Orlando when on checking in I was told "No, the restaurant is closed and housekeeping is every four days").
