Is there anyone out there old enough to remember a time that the flight deck did not communicate with the cabin crew over the PA? I am sure that I can remember a time when we (the pax) didn't hear, "20 minutes to landing" or, "Doors to manual and cross-check". No criticism intended - just curious when this came in (or was I just not hearing it in my earlier life?)
