And if you're actually going somewhere far, you can book a multi-connection itinerary, something like SEA-SFO-SAN-JFK. Sometimes the extra RDM you earn can more than make up for the extra cost. Not going to get you all 10 segments in one go, but might save you a a few GEG dry runs.
