I appreciate how they serve lunch on these morning departures, as most passengers would've already had one or two breakfasts.
Thanks, this was a really good tip for my QR12 LHR-DOH last week - after a 3am start, a decent breakfast in the LHR premium lounge, and boarding at 8am, it was great to be able to go straight to lobster thermidor for lunch at 9:30am then to bed for a nap!
Laurent Perrier rose champagne - really enjoyed this to start the flight
Menu
Curried prawns starter. Not as flavoursome as I had expected, but actually it was fine as a prelude to the lobster
Lobster thermidor - this was very good. If I was being picky I'd say the tenderstem broccoli was overcooked, but I couldn't fault the lobster
Berries with rosewater syrup - this was perfect especially after such a rich main course
Iced latte - superb
Mezze selection - I ordered this after awaking from my nap, taking cues from other posters to not order an omelette. Hit the spot as usual with QR
Brunch platter to follow - this was fine, probably would have worked better with fewer items or smaller portions (the brioche and Danish pastry were similar in taste). The tuna tataki and the fresh fruit were for me the best components, the rest was unremarkable
